Business Growth Accelerator Program

 
 

NYSTEC’s 12-month, immersive business growth accelerator (BGA) program provides certified and growth-oriented minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) firms with intensive technical assistance and business development training to accelerate and sustain their business growth.

The NYSTEC incubator will provide MWBEs the tools, networks, and resources they need through in-person and virtual business development assistance. The training will consist of workshops, one-on-one mentoring, networking, and partnerships to strengthen the operational and development capacity and skills for growth and sustainability.

CURRICULUM


Training topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Business to Business/Business to Agency

  • Technology and Financial Acumen

  • Access to Capital, Insurance, and Bonding

  • Marketing, Advertising , and Branding

  • Scaling and Market Growth

  • Project Management

  • Human Resources Management

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Requirements include:

  • Must be a construction service and/or construction consulting firm

  • Must be a current certified NYS MBE, WBE, or MWBE

  • Must be in business for at least two (2) years and have at least two (2) employees

  • Must demonstrate annual revenues between $100,000 and $5 million during the most recent year.

  • The business can be located in the Capital Region (Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren, or Washington Counties). We are also accepting applications from businesses located outside of the Capital Region who would attend remotely.

  • Must submit an application to the NYSTEC Incubator

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The duration of the program is 12 months:

  • Now – March 31: Application Submission, Review, and Program Acceptance.

  • February 16: Open House

  • March 16 – June 29: Incubator Programming

  • June – December: Business Growth Plan Implementation
