Startups in Residence are intended to provide assistance as needed to the core startup teams in the program. They are able to take advantage of all of the resources offered at IgniteU in exchange for their guidance, experience, and connections in the startup ecosystem of the Capital Region. They are expected to provide a schedule to be posted at the beginning of the program to communicate their availability to the core teams. 

Qualifications of Startups in residence:

To be considered for the IgniteU 9-week early-accelerator program as a SiR, a startup should meet the following criteria:

  • Currently a startup in the Capital Region
  • Has received funding or has achieved recurring revenue
  • Able to provide advice to the core teams

Expectations of Startups in residence:

Startups-In-Residence are expected to commit to the following:

  • Act as a role model startup for the core teams in the program
  • Provide support to the teams when necessary
  • Interact with and support Lead Mentors and Interns assigned to the core teams
  • Spend at least 8 man-hours in the IgniteU office each week
  • Lead an activity in the topic they feel most comfortable
  • Support weekly team presentations, help the core teams review slides or handouts, and provide advice
  • Provide feedback to program staff as requested
